Shouldn't we all have Internet Freedom???

It is amazing how technology has become a major source of communication over the years. With Egypt and Tunisia government shutting down its internet access only speaks volumes to how the protesters are successfully bringing awareness to their problems. Even though I do not agree with what Egypt and Tunisia is doing, however does the U.S have a right to warn or stop them? I mean is the social network a right or just a privilege?

  2. Although U.S.s actions could be viewed as noble, in terms of helping the protesters in their freedom of internet usage, I think there should be a limit as to how much U.S. can intervene. When viewed from the oppressed public's perspective, it fights for their efforts, however even the people of oppressed countries are worried as to how much U.S. actions are actually helping them vs. making them seem like Western puppets. When judging the issue from a governmental point of view, I don't think that the U.S. has a right to bluntly undermine Egyptian or Tunisian government-passed regulations. Being a world role model, does not mean aggressively promoting the practices that we are accustomed to.
