I think this boycott is a bad idea. This really puts Pakistan, the U.S., and other coalition countries on shaky ground, as Pakistan tries to figure out if they're even still on good terms with the United States. I wonder if there would be a better way for Pakistan to go about voicing their discontent without so much added risk of everything falling apart.

Pakistan’s decision to boycott the conference could have very negative effects. Considering this conference is about discussing the future of Afghanistan it would be beneficial for their neighbor was present for the discussion. This could further deteriorate relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Breanna, you bring a valid point - Pakistan's decision could be detriment to relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Poor relations between the two countries strengthen the Taliban-led insurgency and leads to decreased cooperation on stability between borders and trade. It is imperative for relations between the two countries to improve in order to achieve some kind of stability in the region.
