An international contact group on Libya states that it is crucial that Gaddafi steps down and that "Libyans should be allowed to determine their future." This contact group also stated that they not only want to possibly provide funds to the rebels but will also continue to give them "material support." Another imperative issue brought by UN Secretary General was that millions of Libyans will require some sort of humanitarian aid as well. Many sat that Gaddafi's regime only continues to weaken as "his followers leave him."
Any thoughts?
I agree, Gaddafi must step down if that is what the people of Libya want. I believe he will eventually step down since his regime is only weakening. I just hope he willingly gives up his power and civilian deaths do not occur while he tries to maintain his hold on Libya.

I dont believe that Gaddafi is going to step down anytime soon. This is a man who will kill any protestors. The rebel forces have not been as successful as the UN and EU has hoped. Its a tragedy what Gaddafi has done and needs to be taken out of power because he will not step down.

He is either going to fight it out or eventually be over run, but he will definitely not step down because its the right thing to do.
