Egypt is far from a safe place for Egyptian Christians. With the police being absent and the military taking control, the Military is standing by not taking actions over cruel acts of violence towards the Christians. Most of the Christians in Egypt believe the Muslim brotherhood is being handed the country on a silver plater which will prove to be fatal to Christians

Being a Christian myself this is terrible to read that people are still being terrorized based upon their beliefs, but at the same time I felt that the article was slightly biased. It was taken from an Egyptian Christian site and I would need to see a more objective factual based article to make an educated response to it. I say this because it is a very important and intriguing issue, I am not by any means trying to disrespect the poster.

I am not a fan of religion for this reason amongst others. I think that although religion has very positive effects on peoples lives, it causes other people more pain and loss of self dignity. I think there are positive and negative side effects of all religions. I also don't like how demanding religions are. I think it is very sad that the christians are being treated this way. Before I state my next belief, please understand I am friends with many muslim people and although I throughly enjoy them as people I do not agree at all with a majority of their culture. I think it is ridiculous that they try to force their religion and culture on others (as many other religions do--I'm not saying they are the only ones). I do not think they treat their women well as a general rule and it deeply upsets me as a woman growing up in the US. I think religion is the cause of most--if not all--wars. This is just my opinion and initial reaction to reading what was posted. I hope I did not offend anyone, I'm sorry if I did.

I think it is absolutely terrible that in some countries in the Middle East, your religion determines if you live or die. I am a Christian from Iraq and within the last few years we hear more on church bombings and priests being killed along with the Christians. Hopefully with the new changes and revolutions that are taking place, the Christians will be better protected.

It seems that there has been many conflicts between the Muslim community and the Christian community especially over the last couple of months with all the riots going on in the African countries. I think that countries like Egypt who are starting to build up their new form of government should create a constitution which doesn’t discriminate against any religious group since both Muslims and Christians are such a major religious group through out the area.
